Deputy Chief Engineer

Head, Department of Ceramic Materials Research

Professor Bao joined NIIAM in August 2017 as the Head of Department of Ceramic Materials Research responsible for research and development of ceramic composite materials and its application. In December, 2017, he was promoted as deputy chief engineer.

Professor Bao is also a professor and doctorial supervisor, the Director Assistant of Teaching Development Center, in Xi'an Jiaotong University. His teaching and research mainly focused on wear-resistant alloy materials, wear-resistant ceramic/metal matrix composites, and transparent ceramics.

Professor Bao obtained various technology awards and honors such as the Second Class State Technological Invention Award (2006&2010), the Second Class State Technological Invention Award from Ministry of Education (2006&2009), and First Class from Institute of Physics CAS etc.

Professor Bao holds a B.S in Foundry, a M.S. and Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from Xi'an Jiaotong University P.R. China. He pursued his postdoctoral research in Department of Materials in TsingHua University and has been a visiting scholar at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.
