Dr. Wen joined NIIAM in September 2016. She is leading the Software and Big Data Department, International Cooperation Department, responsible for the development of additive manufacturing CAE/CAM software and additive manufacturing big data platform, as well as international communications and cooperation in NIIAM.
Prior to NIIAM, Dr. Ting Wen worked for Shell Oil Company in Houston (USA), during which, she was on an international assignment in Shell Technology Center in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, responsible for flow assurance of multiple onshore projects in China. Before joining Shell, she worked for Expro Group in Wallingford (CT, USA) and RWE Npower in Swindon (UK). Her fields of expertise include computational modeling, multiphase flow and heat transfer, lightweight cellular structures, etc. She has published two books and more than 20 academic papers. Dr. Ting Wen has extensive experience working with multinational project team on highly cross-disciplinary fields.
In 2016, Dr. Wen was elected as one of the first 15 awardees of ‘Leaders in Innovation Fellowship’, jointly supported by the Chinese Academy of Engineering and the Royal Academy of Engineering (UK).
Dr. Wen holds a PhD in Engineering from University of Cambridge (UK) and a MS in Thermal Engineering, a BS in Thermal and Power Engineering from Xi'an Jiaotong University (China).
